Stan Cottrell: A Great History Maker
The darkness faded away when Munfordville, Kentucky’s famous son, Stan Cottrell has been honored for his deeds. The Superintendent of schools and Munfordville Tourism disclosed a Historical Marker acknowledging Cottrell’s specific ultra-distance running accomplishments, whether it is about breaking the Trans-USA Guinness Record by five days or playing a role of effective Goodwill Ambassador to the people all around the world by his “Friendship Runs.” Stan Cottrell is a great personality, who united people coming from different cultural background. He encouraged everybody in his own special way. Cottrell broke down the walls that can divide one human heart from others. He ran through the Forbidden Zone in China in 1984 and made a Friendship Run in North Vietnam. He ran in the Soviet Union through African countries.
